Guernsey’s bus service is run by CT Plus on behalf of The States of Guernsey. The service connects most of the island and stops near the majority of the principle visitor attractions.
Boarding A Bus
Bus stops are identified by the word BUS painted on the road or by bus stops on poles. Alternatively, you may hail a bus at any point in its journey. The driver will stop and pick you up if it is safe to do so. Hailing a bus is, however, not possible in the centre of St. Peter Port or on the Bridge, St. Sampsons.
Payment
There is a single fare of £1 for all journeys. If you need to change buses in order to complete your journey you do not need to pay twice. Just present your ticket to the driver for a transfer ticket valid for the remainder of your journey.
The service has a range of unlimited travel passes;
One day pass £4.50 | Two day pass £7.50 | Seven day pass £19.00 | Family One day pass £9.00 | Family Two day pass £15.00 | Family Seven day pass £38.00 (Family passes allow unlimited travel for up to two adults and up to three children up to 16 years old travelling together)
Regular travellers can benefit from a pay as you go card called the Puffin Pass (thiis was introduced in November 2015 and supercedes the Ormer Card.) Journeys on the Puffin Pass cost 55p during the day and £2 after 10pm on Friday and Saturday. Residents over the age of 65 (including those from Alderney and Herm) can travel free if they show the driver suitable identification, such as their medical insurance card. Unfortuntely, this does not apply to older people visiting the Island. Children travel free up until their fifth birthday (one child per adult).
The company has a comprehensive website that has recently been updated to include an interactive journey planner and live service updates. Copies of the timetables are available at the Town Terminus, Guernsey Information Centre, the Airport, and on some buses.

Popular Destinations by Bus
Guernsey has many great attractions around the island. Here are a few of the top ones with their recommended route. (Of course with the island being so small it is possible to walk from the stop on an alternative route rather than make a change to a different bus so do check the route map just in case!)
NB – as stated above, all buses travel to and from the Bus Terminus in St Peter Port, therefore all Town attractions are easily accessible via any bus route. Any attraction in St Peter Port is therefore noted as In Town, although if there is a bus stop outside the attraction the route is also noted!
